First class BAhons graduate Richard Blunt is a contemporary artist, portrait artist and fine art restorer.
From a very young age Richard soon found he had a talent for art and was often found looking for ways to be creative. Although Richard has always enjoyed drawing it was not until 2009 when he was inspired to try oil painting that his true passion was realised.
He is now working on a collection of original compositions for exhibition later this year which will be available to view here soon. Richard's preferred medium is oil or acrylic but also works in watercolour, pastel, ink and pencil.
Artist's Inspiration
"I've always been fascinated by the gritty detail of the Pre-Raphaelites and the way artists like Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Vermeer used light in their paintings to create such depth. I'm also quite interested in the idea of a blank space on a canvas and finding unusual ways to compose a painting"
